McCormick Paints is seeking a dependable and hardworking Seasonal Part-Time Material Handler to support our distribution and warehouse operations during our peak season. This position plays a key role in ensuring the efficient and safe handling of raw materials, finished goods, and other inventory. You will assist with material movement, order staging, inventory control, and general warehouse organization. This position is based out of Frederick, MD. This seasonal opportunity provides valuable experience and the possibility to apply internally for full-time, permanent roles in the future.

Schedule:

  • Days/Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Season End Date: October 31, 2025

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Duties include, but are not limited to those listed below. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Pull and stage stock accurately to fulfill customer and internal orders
  • Load and unload shipments with proper documentation and care
  • Receive and process inbound freight, verifying contents
  • Move, stack, and rotate inventory as needed
  • Use handheld scanners to track inventory and maintain accuracy
  • Assist with inventory counts and order fulfillment
  • Report damaged goods, safety concerns, or discrepancies promptly
  • Keep warehouse areas clean and assist with equipment upkeep
  • Provide basic administrative support to the Distribution Center Manager
  • Support other warehouse and plant staff as needed

Additional Expectations:

  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines
  • Wear required PPE and report unsafe conditions immediately
  • Participate in regular safety training and meetings

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school degree, or equivalent
  • Previous warehouse or distribution experience is helpful, but not required
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet for most of the shift
  • Basic math and reading comprehension skills
  • Team-oriented with good communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Forklift experience required, Forklift certification is a plus
