Fill Crew Specialist
McCormick Paints is seeking a Fill Crew Specialist for our Manufacturing Facility in Frederick, MD.
The Fill Crew Specialist plays a crucial role in the paint manufacturing process, ensuring that paint products are accurately and efficiently filled into containers according to quality and safety standards. This position involves operating filling equipment, conducting quality checks, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
This position reports to the Production Manager. The typical work schedule is Monday – Thursday, from 5:30am to 4:00pm. Occasional Friday work is required to meet manufacturing timeline needs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The duties include, but are not limited to the following. Other duties may also apply, as necessary.
- Set up, operate, and monitor filling machinery for accurate and efficient product packaging.
- Load raw materials, unload finished goods, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Adjust machine settings and monitor fill levels to prevent spills or inconsistencies.
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to transport materials.
- Conduct quality checks on filled containers, ensuring proper sealing, labeling, and volume accuracy.
- Follow safety protocols, use PPE, and handle hazardous materials properly.
- Maintain records of maintenance, production issues, and material usage.
- Report supply shortages, defective products, and equipment malfunctions.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and train new employees.
- Keep work areas clean, inspect equipment, and support plant hygiene initiatives.
- Other duties, as necessary.
- High school degree, or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing environment
- Proven mechanical ability, preferred
- Must possess strong organizational skills and a natural mechanical ability
- Strong communication skills
- Possess basic mathematical skills
- Attention to detail
- The ability to work successfully in a fast-paced team environment
- Must be able to perform manual tasks, including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working in a manufacturing environment
- Must be able to traverse the production facility
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs
- Ability to operate manufacturing and plant equipment (i.e.: forklift, electric pallet jack, dispensers, etc.)
